Aliwali (also spelt Alewali or Ālewali) is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies about 25 km from Lawa, 29 km from Talagang, 45 km from the Kallar Kahar lake, and 45 km from the M2 motorway at the Kallar Kahar interchange.
Aliwali sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields. Farming here depends on the rains, and wheat and groundnut are grown across the plateau. To the south rise the hills of the Salt Range.
Like many families across the Potohar, households in this area have members serving in the army or working abroad. The village's own story, told by its people, is still to be written.
