This is Chakran.
Chakran (also spelt Chak) is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and open fields where farming depends on the rain.
Its neighbourhood is measured in kilometres in a straight line: about 29 km to Islamabad airport, 41 km to Dhudial and to Rawalpindi, and 42 km to Chakwal city. The Salt Range rises to the south.
Across the plateau, families grow wheat and groundnut, and many have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of Chakran, its families and its days, is still to be told by its own people, and this page is the place to begin.
