Dera Khalsa is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where wheat and groundnut are farmed, with the Salt Range rising to the south.
In a straight line, Rawalpindi is about 27 km away, Islamabad airport about 43 km, Dhudial about 66 km, and Chakwal city about 74 km. Like many families across this area, many households here have members serving in the army or working abroad.
