Dhok Kachhal is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal in the Punjab of Pakistan. You may also see it spelt Dhok Kachal, Kachhal or Kāchhal. It is the same place.

It lies on the Potohar plateau, where the land is dry and deeply ravined and farming depends on the rain. The fields of this region grow wheat and groundnut, and the Salt Range rises to the south. Lawa is about 23 km away, Talagang about 31 km, and the Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway are each about 48 km.

Across this plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The fuller story of this village, its people and its days is still to be told by those who live here and those who have left it.
