This is Dhok Mehrwal.
Dhok Mehrwal is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet, in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to its south.
Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway are each about 27 km away in a straight line. The Katas Raj temples and Talagang are about 41 km off. Across this part of the Potohar, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The full story of Dhok Mehrwal and its people is still to be told, and it is for the families of this dhok to tell it in their own words.
