This is Dhok Saira.

Dhok Saira is a dhok, a small farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines, with the Salt Range rising to the south. Farming here depends on the rain, and the land is known for wheat and groundnut.

In a straight line, the village is about 30 km from Choa Saidan Shah, 31 km from the Malot temple, 33 km from the Katas Raj temples and 34 km from Dhudial. Across the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.

The story of Dhok Saira's own people, how the hamlet began and how its days have been lived, is still to be told. We invite the families of this dhok to share it here, in their own words.

سیدھی لکیر میں یہ بستی چوآ سیدن شاہ سے تقریباً 30 کلومیٹر، ملوٹ مندر سے 31 کلومیٹر، کٹاس راج کے مندروں سے 33 کلومیٹر اور ڈھڈیال سے 34 کلومیٹر دور ہے۔ پورے پوٹھوہار میں بہت سے گھرانوں کے افراد فوج میں ہیں یا بیرونِ ملک کام کرتے ہیں۔ ڈھوک سائرہ کے اپنے لوگوں کی کہانی ابھی لکھی جانی باقی ہے، اور ہم اس ڈھوک کے گھرانوں کو خوش آمدید کہتے ہیں کہ وہ اپنی زبان میں یہ کہانی یہاں سنائیں۔
