This is Dhok Sheikhan.
Dhok Sheikhan is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. The name is also spelt Dhok Shekan or Dhok Shekān. It lies in the rain-fed country of the Potohar plateau, where the land is dry and cut by ravines, and the Salt Range rises to the south.
By straight line, Dhudial is about 42 km away, Rawalpindi 48 km, Chakwal city 52 km, and Islamabad airport 56 km.
Across this part of the plateau, wheat and groundnut are grown on rain-fed land, and many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The village's own story, its families and its memories, is still to be told by its people, and this page is a place to begin telling it.
