This is Dhok Shera.
Dhok Shera is a dhok, a farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. In a straight line it lies about 36 km from Choa Saidan Shah and Dhudial, about 37 km from the Malot temple, and about 38 km from the Katas Raj temples.
The wider land here is the Potohar plateau, dry and cut by ravines, where farming depends on rain. Wheat and groundnut are the crops of this country, and the Salt Range rises to the south. Across this region, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad.
The full story of Dhok Shera, its families, its fields and its people is still to be told, and it is for those who grew up here to tell it in their own words.
