Faruqabad, also known as Bhukni and Choorkana, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to the south.

Its neighbours are close by. Kallar Kahar lake and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway are each about 1 kilometre away. Chakwal city is 21 kilometres off, and the Katas Raj temples are 25 kilometres away.

Across the plateau, wheat and groundnut are grown on rain-fed land, and many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of Faruqabad, in the words of its own people, is still to be told.
