Ghanwal is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines with the Salt Range rising to its south. Dhudial lies about 13 km away, Choa Saidan Shah and the Katas Raj temples about 16 km, and Chakwal city about 17 km.
Life on this plateau is shaped by rain and hard work. Across the wider Potohar, farming families grow wheat and groundnut on rain-fed fields, and many households have members serving in the army or working abroad.
