This is Jhandial.
Jhandial is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies in the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to its south. In a straight line, Islamabad airport is about 34 km away, Rawalpindi 51 km, Talagang 52 km and Chakwal city 57 km.
Across this region, farming depends on the rain, and wheat and groundnut are among the crops grown here. Many families have members serving in the army or working abroad, so home is often counted from far away.
The fuller story of Jhandial, its people and its customs is still to be told by the villagers themselves. This page is an invitation to do so.
