Kanianwala is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab of Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, where farmers grow wheat and groundnut, and the Salt Range rises to the south.
The village lies about 27 km from the Malot temple and from Dandot in the Salt Range, 28 km from Choa Saidan Shah, and 31 km from the Katas Raj temples. Like many households across this plateau, families here have members serving in the army or working abroad.
