Kot Piro is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab of Pakistan. Its name carries the word kot, an old term for a fortified settlement. The village stands on the Potohar plateau, a dry land cut by ravines, where farming depends on rain and families grow crops such as wheat and groundnut.
The Salt Range rises to the south. Dandot lies about 19 km away, the Malot temple about 20 km, Choa Saidan Shah about 21 km, and the Katas Raj temples about 24 km, so the village sits close to places many people know. Many families here have members in the army or working abroad.
