Mohra Malyaran is a small hamlet, a mohra, in District Chakwal in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south.
Across the Potohar, families farm wheat and groundnut, and the land depends on the rain. Many families across the plateau have members serving in the army or working abroad, keeping close ties between home and the wider world.
