Nigial is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It is also spelt Dhok Naghial, Dhok Naghiāl and Dhok Nagial, and all of these names refer to the same home.
The village sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines where farming depends on rain. Wheat and groundnut are grown here, and the Salt Range lies to the south. Across the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad, and Nigial is part of that story.
In a straight line, the village is about 37 km from Choa Saidan Shah and from the Malot temple, 39 km from Dandot in the Salt Range, and 40 km from the Katas Raj temples. The fuller story of Nigial, its families and its people, is still to be told by the people of the village themselves.
