This is Ransial.
Ransial is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines where farming depends on the rains and wheat and groundnut are grown. To the south rise the hills of the Salt Range.
The village is within easy reach of several well-known places. Kallar Kahar lake is about 7 km away in a straight line, the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway about 8 km, the Katas Raj temples about 25 km, and Choa Saidan Shah about 28 km.
Across the Potohar plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. Ransial's own story is still to be told by its people, in their own words.
