سارن، جسے سرائے یا سَرای بھی لکھا جاتا ہے، ضلع چکوال، پنجاب، پاکستان کا ایک گاؤں ہے۔ یہ پوٹھوہار کے سطح مرتفع پر واقع ہے، جہاں خشک ندی نالے اور بارانی کھیت ہیں، اور لوگ گندم اور مونگ پھلی کاشت کرتے ہیں۔ اس کے جنوب میں کوہِ نمک کا سلسلہ ہے، اور ڈنڈوت تقریباً 13 کلومیٹر کے فاصلے پر اسی سلسلے میں واقع ہے۔
This is Saran.
Saran, also written Sarai or Sarāi, is a village in District Chakwal, in Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields where families grow wheat and groundnut. The Salt Range rises to the south of this plateau, and Dandot lies about 13 km away in that range.
Saran is close to several well-known places. Choa Saidan Shah is about 5 km away, the Katas Raj temples about 6 km, and the Malot temple about 7 km. Across the Potohar, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of Saran, its people and its days, is still to be told by the people of the village themselves.
