کہانی
Katas Raj is a Hindu temple complex in the Salt Range, in the Choa Saidan Shah municipal area and linked to the M2 Motorway. Legend says the sacred pond formed from Shiva's tears after the death of his wife Sati, and the name is traced to the Sanskrit 'kataksha', meaning tearful eyes. Shahi dynasties built temples here from the mid 7th to 10th centuries, and the Mahabharata is linked to the site through the Pandavas' exile. Hindus regard it as the second most sacred site in historic Punjab after Jwalamukhi. Restoration began in 2006.
