Bhutral is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to its south. In a straight line, it is about 29 km from Islamabad airport, 43 km from Rawalpindi, and 45 km each from Chakwal city and Dhudial.
Life on the Potohar plateau asks much of those who work its land, and the wider area is known for wheat and groundnut farming. Many families here have members serving in the army or working abroad, so Bhutral stays close to those who have gone far away.
