Chaukhandi, also spelt Chokhandi, is a village in District Chakwal, in the Punjab province of Pakistan. It lies in the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to the south. Talagang is about 16 km away, Lawa about 34 km, and the Kallar Kahar lake about 39 km. The M2 motorway's Kallar Kahar interchange is also about 39 km away, in a straight line.
Across this plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad, and Chaukhandi is part of that story of people who keep close ties to home.
