This is Dhok Jamial.
Dhok Jamial is a dhok, a small farmstead hamlet in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to its south.
Its location is easy to place. Talagang is 19 km away, Lawa 32 km, and the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway 39 km. The Kallar Kahar lake is about 40 km away in a straight line.
Across the plateau, life has long been shaped by the land and by distance: wheat and groundnut farming, and many families with members in the army or working abroad. The full story of Dhok Jamial, its families and its days is still to be told, and this page is open for its own people to tell it.
