Dhingwal is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to its south.
Farming across this plateau depends on the rain, and wheat and groundnut are the crops grown here. As in many families across the Potohar, people from this area have served in the army or worked abroad, so the village has long kept close ties with those far from home.
