This is Takwin.
Takwin, also spelt Takwe, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to its south. Farming here means wheat and groundnut, and the rains shape much of each year's harvest.
Takwin lies close to several well-known places. Choa Saidan Shah and the Malot temple are each about 10 km away in a straight line, the Katas Raj temples about 13 km, and Dandot in the Salt Range about 14 km.
Across the plateau, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad. The full story of Takwin, its families and its days, is still to be told, and it is for its own people to tell it.
