This is Sambal.

Sambal, also spelt Simbal, is a village in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. It lies on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range rising to its south.

Farming here depends on the rains, and wheat and groundnut are the crops of these fields. Many families have members serving in the army or working abroad, so the village stays connected to people far away.

By straight-line distance, Sambal is about 10 km from Kallar Kahar lake and from the Kallar Kahar interchange on the M2 motorway, 19 km from the Katas Raj temples, and 22 km from Choa Saidan Shah. The village's own full story, told by its people and remembered by those who have left, is still to be written.
