Chak Twelve is a chak, a settlement that grew up in the canal era, in District Chakwal, Punjab, Pakistan. Its story is still to be told by the people who live here and the families who have gone abroad.
The village sits on the Potohar plateau, a land of dry ravines and rain-fed fields, with the Salt Range to the south. Across this part of Potohar, many families have members serving in the army or working abroad, and that bond between home and far-off places is part of life here too.
